Many fitness bands on the market today do not provide users with the ability to explore the full potential of their bands. This is done by restricting them from accessing the raw data of the sensors. Microsoft entered the fitness band market, using a unique approach which enabled users to directly access the band's sensors through a development interface. The MS band data collector application utilizes this feature by allowing users to store and label these values on their phone's local memory. This provision therefore allows for the efficient use of the Microsoft band and usurps its full potential.
